The BSD600-Duet was designed
to meet the increase in demand for reliable sample preparation and positive
identification in sample tracking DNA analysis fields, such as Forensics,
Animal Breeding, DNA databasing and Bone Marrow Transplant, and in some
Neonatal Screening applications.
The BSD600 is a medium
throughput punch instrument with a two-plate capacity Multiple cleaning
strikes (up to 5) can be deposited into the dedicated cleaning bay. It
also has multiple strike capability (up to six disks in one well in one
punching action) and the BSD Auto-Triggering System It has also has the
BSD Low-Pressure Air System.
The BSD600-Duet incorporated the BSD light targeting system. It also has
a disk detector system which ensures that the punched disks are deposited
correctly into the right wells. The BSD600 can have either one or two
built-in punches and is available in a range of punch sizes and combinations
which includes 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 3.2mm, 4.7mm, 6.0mm and any custom
sizes that you require, and is able to punch into either 96-well microplates,
384 well plates or deep well plates.
The BSD600 has highly flexible software and barcode reading capability
which provides positive identification of plates, samples, standards and
controls. The software generates an comma-delimited ASCII output file
after every run and includes several fields such as Tests Name, Plate
No., Plate Barcode, Grid Reference, Sample Barcode , Type of Disk, Fill
Order, Others and a Comment. This file can be exported into the LIMS or
any downstream instruments. The unit can also punch according to an ASCII
input file (e.g. for re-work purposes) imported from the LIMS. The unit
will scan the sample (or controls and standards) barcodes determined in
the input file and punch the number of disks required into specified wells
of the specified plate. The input file will be in the format of:Sample
Barcode;Test Name 1, Test Name 2;Well Reference;No. of Disks;Type of Disks.
